The evaluation system is designed to continually assess the
student’s performance in relation to the required standards of
academic achievement. Apart from the mid term and end term
examinations, a student’s performance is assessed on the basis
of class participation, preparation of periodic assignments,
surprise quizzes, presentations etc. The evaluation will be
based on the performance of the student in all six academic
terms (i.e. Term-I to VI) and OJT.
As per the norms, the institute expects a minimum standard of
2.5 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) at the end of
term-III for promotion to second year and minimum of 2.5 CGPA
at the end of the second year for the award of the Degree.
Failure to meet the minimum standard of performance at any
time would require a student to discontinue from the program.
Examination (s)
For the two credit courses there is one term examination,
which may be at mid term or at end term depending upon the
period at which it was offered. For four credit courses there
are two term examinations i.e. mid term and end term. These
examinations are compulsory. The date and time of the
examinations will be notified by the PGDM office. There will
be no examination breaks.
Grading System
Grade point of each segment and course :
All segments of a course will be evaluated in terms of letter
grade only.
These letter grades in individual segments will be converted
separately into numerical grade points up to two decimal
points as per the conversion table given below depending on
the weightage assigned to the segment in percentage. However,
taking the weightage as 100%, the letter grade will have the
numerical value.
If a student has not satisfied the academic requirements of a
course, he/she might be awarded an “I” (Incomplete)
temporarily. An “I” has to be cleared well in time for
promotion to the second year. In case of second year student,
such incomplete work of a particular academic term should be
completed within course of the following term. A sixth term
“I” has to be completed well in time to graduate.
